Connect the Dots - Rashmi Bansal : Book Review

Steve Jobs , founder Apple, in his Commencement speech at Stanford University Convocation (2005) said three simple stories from his life which he breifed that one cannot connect the dots looking forwards, you can only do them backwards and also added Stay hungry Stay foolish till you find success.. so these words have become the authors titles:

While reading Rashmi Bansals Stay hungry Stay foolish , i felt its little bit half cooked.The book is about collection of interviews of IIM Grads who turned out to be entrepreneurs.It started well and was completed to be ended.

Rashmi has came along with a step forward in the tranformation into an author in her recent book Connect the dots from previous experience, this Aluminus of IIM A , interviewed the Entrepreneurs who followed their instinct , the good part of the book is the narration of each and everyone has been maintained carefully throughout the book and is also cooked well.

The book is also a collection of interviews about their journeys to success by 20 Entrepreneurs who didnt have the formal management education through institutions but they learnt them burning their hands.

Let it be the Prem Ganapathy of Dosa Plaza or Ganesh Ram of Veta or Raghu Khanna of Cashurdrive or Saurabh and Gaurav of Political Edge or Paresh or Krishna Reddy of Prince Group , everyone's story is inspiring in their own ways.And at times we forget to notice the leaders next door who are truly inspiring with their deeds.

Its worth gifting to people to whom you feel needs a moral boast up besides Monks (Robin Sharma) and Chicken Soups....

Good for Reading as well as Gifting...

This is yet another love story but with different flavor. When love is common , love stories as well are common , the difference lies in the way the story is said and also , the way of selection of cast and crew.

Lead Actor Male: Balaji - the guy who acted in the Vijay TV SOAP Kana Kaanum Kalangal is the hero , Man , he needs to gain some weight, he is so lean , apt for the character.Good going.. There is a line where seniors say looking at him "Nalla Varuvaan Da".. seriously he will unless he goes with the track of the story and not in his own.

Lead Actor Female: Meghna Sundar - She looks alike Actress Nayantara in some angle BTW she is beautiful , homely ..(put whatever u want).. she also acts well.

Karthik Sabesh , who takes the comedy track along with the hero has done a cool job.

Music : Yuvan shankar Raja : the songs are nice , the two melodies in the frist half are touching. Background Score : at some places felt bad.

Direction :
Story is said in a good way and climax is touching.No fights and No seperate comedy adds points to the story. Hero gobbling his mouth with phenoyl and saying that he is doing so because he called heroine "Sister" upon her request is too much.Comedy is seriously superb.No big star Cast adds more strength.
Poor Editing, Dunno why Arya is donning a cameo appearance in the movie and in the where heroine says to the hero that she will touch the live wire and commit suicide, auidence are educated well to know that its live wire but showing sparks in the transformer is too much.
Leaving all these , Kaadhal Solla Vandhaen is good to watch movie and a good entertainer with good melody.
Comedy+Melody+Climax - rocks

21:Movie Review

21 - a English movie released in 2008 tells a tale of a MIT grad's attempt to save enough money for his Med studies at Harvard Med School.Besides his good rankings and scores in MCAT, he has to win over the Robinson Scholarship which covers the entire fee for his studies at Harvard Med.

Ben , good at maths is a student at MIT who aims for Med studies at Harvard Med School and is preparing hard with his friends working on a robotic project for the engineering competition and working in a garment shop where he is promoted to Asst.Manager.

In one of his class , he impresses his prof. by solving the problem in the class. Prof.Rosa ,the head of team playing black jack invites him and makes him a big player of the team.They practise black jack and make money from casino's in las vegas playing on weekends.

Sudden luck that brings ben money and girl turns out to be curse.How Ben made it to harvard med school and how he escapes the curse that has suddenly fallen on him is in the movie.

Ben dazzles everyone.

Vamsam : Movie Review

Another movie with villages, revenge, family fights as base but the difference is that the movie has some different touch in it.


Vamsam - a movie suggesting a peaceful life is a happy life , revenge will have nothing but enemity only and strength and power is to defend the forces against peace and to drench the vengeance.

Drafted and Directed very well , it takes us to the life style where we were brought up , the villages.In the time where modernization and city culture is most like , the village style has its own trade mark.

All the characters are characterized very well and the cast is realistic.

Police constable explaining to Inspector that age group of people killing for revenge is above 35 and the mother of hero , a teacher getting promise from every of her student not to hurt anyone equals the logic.

Nerungi varugiran Nerungi varugiran odipo malarae - using the close up tune in the song is cool

Cast and Crew - simply suberb

JeyaPrakash , Kishore and Anupama Kumar donned a niche role.

Kanja Karupu's comedy , Hero spelling Botanical names of plants insisting that he has promised not to spell bad words , climbing the trees for get the range of phone connection are rocking

Preparation of Patta Sarayam , following and executing the murder, standing in front of the burning body in the grave yard to get more kick , horse race are very well picturized.
Vamsam - a movie of seriousness said in a light way.

Vamsam - a lesson to reach the masses.
That's all what i can say , rest all is to watch in its way.

We didn't have any such plans to go to the movie, as my roomie's bro was in town we planned to go any flick and found no tickets available for any flick in bookmyshow.com

It was heavily raining in hyderabad on friday night and dunno when they opened the show for 10:15 p.m in Prasads , we booked ticket for Raavanan right then.

Due to heavy down pour , no cab was available, to try the luck we waited for auto's , no one was interested to travel 20kms to Prasads from our place. At last we got into a bus @ 9:30 and reached mehdipatnam @ 10 after 10 mins struggle we got into an auto and reached our seat at Prasad's Screen 2 @ 10:30p.m.

OMG first 15 mins of the flick already gone.Veera song is done, Ash was kidnapped and she has dialect with Vikram and flies off from the cliff.

Usserae Pogudhae starts playing.. man kudos to the cinematographer for picturising and visualizing the scenes.Awesome location and camera men has done their best.

Songs and background score is cool. Vikram lived as Veeraiya and the way he falls in love with Ash , whom he kidnapped to kill is well said.

Dunno why the director has concentrated more on Raavan and not in Ram (Prithivi Raj), he loses the stage to the performance of Raavan and Ash.

Prabu's innocent angry brother character is well played. Karthik at some places overacted and stood up to the character Hanuman.

Ranjitha gets a loud applause compared to the lead stars, blessings of Nityananda :P

Priyamani's character is not so touching and she has done her part well though given very limited scenes to perform.

Vikram,MACHO MAN, the well built Raavanan, steals the entire show. Though negative has a positive within. He has done his part well still his moves are not that power packed.

Ash, Gorgeous Sita, steals the show and the heart from Raavan, brilliant performance,excellent moves.

Prithivi Raj, Ram , highly duty consious, loves to kill Vikram beyond rescuing Ash.

Vairamuthu, ARR - splendid work.

Mani Ratnam - not an usual Mani's Flick, a good flick beyond the holes in logic and story line, a different flick as usual but not that touching as his earlier movies.

Though there is lots of logic missing in the movie, everyone has done their part well.

Gotta see the movie in hindi to check out Junior Bachchan's Performance.

Gotta check out whether which Raavan is best , the Raavan from the South or North ;)

Also , the telugu version "Villian" , coz telugu people doesn't like sad ending (or) hero being killed , now who is the hero :-|

Might sound a bit late , but got this book from the library and felt should have started reading with indian authors.I usually dont have the habit of reviewing whatever i read but felt have to post reviews on books that are touching.this is one of such sort.

The book started with dedication “To all those women in our country who suppress their emotions and suffer silently because they have leukoderma. May they be imbued with hope and courage.”

But after reading it I felt the book is not only for those who with leukoderma, to all the women to build a confidence within and also a constructive environment against all odds.

Leukoderma is a cosmetic disease with white patches on the skin and at one point of time it spreads throughout the body. This has been misunderstood for leprosy in the days of late 19th Century, commonly in villages. Though it’s not heredity, contagious, bad omen or the pay for the sin committed in the last karma.

Women who are with this disease are treated like untouchable in the villages and small cities.

The story is weaved all around the beautiful , talented, intelligent , artistic and theatre loving Anupamma . What happens to this daughter of a Poor and timid School teacher who is spell bound by the words of her step mother who is always rude towards her and the love that brings cool breeze for a short time until when she discovered that the disease has shattered her like a Tornado with the marriage to the rich orthodox family.

How Vitamin – M plays a vital role for all individuals ,and the state of a family in the society in case of deficiency and profusion , How does Vitamin –M brings cowardice when oneself or his family lacks in it…

How Anupamma come across her difficulties and look far beyond and move ahead when the love doesn’t rescue her from the small village.

What did she faced in the busy going Mumbai , threats, opportunities and how did she managed with the life in the busy city and built a icon for her.

What is that love really meant? What does People of both gender expect in a love ? The pain of love when breached ?

How the love gets transformed when the love is no more ….

At the end it might sound feminist but it’s not.. It’s for all….

It’s a must read book for all….

I hate luv stories - a romantic comedy. Imran Khan has donned well after 'JTYJN'(Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na), Sonam kapoor suits and acts well in her role.

Veer is a successful director of Romantic movies and is directing 'Pyar Pyar Pyar' , his asst directors includes Simran and J. Simran designs sets for the movies and J works in her team.

J is guy who came out of the family after a break up in his parents life doesnt believes in love and hates love stories.Irony is he works with successful love film director.

Simran's boy friend is a Investment banker for Meryll Lynch and Simran is irritated by J's work. Later J and Simran develops a good rappo and that leads to good friendship and Simran falls in love with MR.Not So Perfect J and slowly moves away from Mr.perfect Raj.

Raj wants to work it out with Simran , J who is jus a friend ignores the proposal from Simran and Simran slowly moves away from J. when Simran leaves a void space in J's life , J starts feeling the magic of love.By that time Simran and Raj gets engaged.
Whether J and Simran joins together or not is the rest of the story.
J's attempts in his love and the pain of love expressed is very well. Simran's dilemma when J ignores love and when she starts to forget the past are so nice.
Sonam , Imran and others as well has lived upto their characters.The characters are well suited.
Cool movie , nice to enjoy on a weekend with lots of laughter and love.Songs are very well.
Nothing Serious Jus Coollllll....

Stunt - Arasu - Stunning fights

Karthi - guy next door.

Kajal Agarwal - as usual heroine for a hero based subject. Beauty and Dump only nuts in head. So beautiful with big eyes. Eyes speaks more than herself.

Jeyaprakash - Father of Hero.Apt for the character.Good Actor.Simple and Neat.

Friends of Hero - not only for comedy but also for sentimental as well

Villans,local Dada, Girls Father, Hero's Sister, Sudha and her husband and rest - have done what they are supposed to do.

Cops - as usual dumps as the heroines.

Direction - Good Jovial story with anger of a jovial young man who revenges his father's murder said in a linear way.

There are few things missed here and there , but still movie has its way.

Overall - Good jovial and action flick depicting the life of chennai the happiness in a middle class family , upper middle class and low profile people.

Good stands long when evil has its end every corner of it actions.

A subject which can be said best told better.
